Matthew (he/him) and Jo (she/they) become “Explorers” as we board Sisko’s solar sail ship and set off for Cardassian space. Turns out, the real treasure is the friends we made along the way as we discuss the Bashir and Miles’ evolving friendship and the shift from father/son to friends for Jake and Ben. Also, we consider how Bashir’s insecurity and jealousy of his old medical school rival is a metatexual critique of the relationship DS9 has with TNG. Finally, we debate who among the “ship builders” aka Picard, Sisko and Tom Paris could be considered the best ship engineer.
