Matthew (he/him) and Jo (she/they) find an “Improbable Cause” to say “The Die is Cast” as we discuss this Garak heavy, two part episode that sets up a lot of future DS9 storytelling. We relish the character work that these two episodes do with Garak and explore his arc up until now and where it leads into the future, we examine the shift this episode marks towards military propaganda in the following seasons of the show and we take a few minutes to talk about how much we hate mother fucking Eddington. Matthew asks if this episode marks the end of Bashir and Garak’s relationship and the beginning of Bashir and Miles’ and Jo rants about vice admiral uniforms.
